It is not for the first time but instead of going in details with previous thefts, I would like to divert your attention towards this new story I just read on the THE WALL STREET JOURNAL. Let’s check it our yourself although I am posting some main and bold lines highlighting the story.

According to U.S. intelligence officials, European law-enforcement personalles has unvelied a highly sophisticated, expertised credit-card fraud group that closely links to the accouncts and their data directly to Pakistan. This fraud involved serveral indeed hundreds of grocery store card machines across Europe.

Investigations are suggesting that this type of the fraud is the most advanced one, which has affected in an economical threat to big retailers like British unit of Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Tesco Ltd.

The scheme uses untraceable devices inserted into credit-card readers that were made in China.

The devices selectively send account data by a wireless connection to computer servers in Lahore, Pakisan, and constantly change the pattern of theft so it is hard to detect, officials say.
